Pre-Festival Paint Out: dates
A relaxed lead-up week for artists to explore Canberra’s locations and warm up before the official festival weekend.

IMPORTANT VISITOR INFORMATION:
- Event photographers will be on site
- Government House will have public attendance limitations and will require pre-registration. Details will be provided on this site closer to the date.
- All events are weather dependent
- IMPORTANT – Only registered festival artists are permitted to paint in festival zones during the event.
We have regular free social monthly paint outs usually on a Sunday from 1.30pm - 4pm. You are welcome to join outside of the festival dates. Join our mail list to get updates.
Pre-Festival – Friday
Ideal start day for artists who can’t join for the whole week but would like to make it a long weekend.
On the last day of the pre-festival paint out the festival begins to take shape with a paint out at the expansive site of LOCATION with demonstrations to educate and inspire.

Festival Weekend: April 25–26
Festival artists will be painting in central public locations.
SATURDAY Location
Participants who wish to attend ANZAC Day commemorations or the Dawn Service are welcome to do so. The festival schedule will not prevent anyone from taking part in these observances. More details can be found here.
